Road closure

Dear Streetworks Team / OCC, I do hope you are having a good day, because I suspect it will soon become less good as more and more people raise the same issue. Putting it simply, you must have known about these planned (I believe gas) works. Even if they were classed as an emergency, you would have had some notice. Let's assume you did have some notice for this purposes of this complaint. I have just added over half an hour to my journey to get to work (leaving Wantage at 7.10) but I am absolutely sure it would have been shorter had you switched off the bus gate cameras at Elder Way, immediately in advance of this closure, and this alternative route were to be made available for all. Better still, and assuming it is in a fit state, open the relief road. Do something...please! I note now that the queue leading up to the Lains Barn turn (from Wantage) is over 3km. Furthermore, today is Monday, a day when many choose to work from home and as a result it is usually the quietest day on the roads. I dread to think what tomorrow will be like. Please, to preserve our sanity do something about this urgently!

Just to second this, why is there no signposted diversion? Why is there no information published on the causeway/one-network site or anywhere else. How about something on the council webapge to actual let us know what is going on. I need to know how to get to work. Its taking me an extra hour to get into work and when I arrive half my staff are missing because they are still trying to get their chuildren into or out of the primary school.
