Blocked gulleys and failing road surface from 153Thame Road going northwards

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 13:21, Sat 21 September 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The road surface is breaking up so badly that the junction of the kerb with the road is full of debris which is preventing water running correctly into gulleys built in to kerb. These gulleys were blocked with plant debris which was pulled out this morning in case of heavy rain. The drain covers in the road running from Sinodun View going north on the right hand side are blocked solid and need clearing by the council in order to prevent flooding outside Greet Hall which happened last winter. Long standing problem which has never been addressed

  • Despite a deep clean of the village on the 18th October by a street cleaner vehicle the gulleys are still full of weeds and mud and none of the drain covers have been lifted and so the drains are still blocked.

  • This section of the road is now dangerous and beyond localised repair. It needs resurfacing. Vehicles passing over the holes and corrugations make significant noise which probably exceeds decibel limits. Recently white lines were painted around two of the holes. These have now washed off. The disintegrating road surface is being washed into gullies and will allow flooding when they block.
