Hazard/Danger for cyclists - Unclear view of oncoming traffic from both sides

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 10:30, Fri 13 September 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

My 14 year old son often cycles to/from Oxford and this crossing is always a little scary as the cycle path is narrow and windy and it lacks a clear view of traffic coming in and out of the A44 and Ruttne Lane.

In fact, a friend of ours, who cycles to Oxford every single day, says she almost got run over by a car the other day. She was cycling back from Oxford and was crossing Rutten Lane to get to the other side of the cycle path. A car zoomed in from Rutten Lane and braked just inches from her!

So I think this section needs mirrors or some other kind of drastic improvements to make the cyclists safe! As Oxford promotes greener way to cycle, there will be more people cycling to and from work/school and this needs to be looked into as soon as possible, please.

Thank you very much for your attention.
