Need for a turning lane island

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 01:43, Thursday 12 September 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Given the focus on improving safety on the A4130 Fair Mile and the introduction of the new 40 mph limit over 4 years ago, I would like to request that the council goes further on this issue now. Please could you kindly review the feasibility of installing a traffic island on the junction of Lambridge Wood Road, to protect right turning traffic and prevent overtaking here on the turning lane. Other councils have carried out similar projects on roads not too dissimilar to the A4130 and they have been welcomed with a lot of support. Please let me know if any further details are required and contact me via email where I would be happy to discuss further. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  • Thank you for raising this request with us. If you would like to see large changes to the carriageway such as new traffic islands we would suggest raising them with the local town council as the town council has a better knowledge of the local area and is in a better position to determine what changes will be required.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
