Block drain below road surface
Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 11:52, Wednesday 11 September 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
There is a completely blocked drain in the road between Witts House and Glovers House on Main Street, Over Norton. The interior of the drain is filled with water, which is causing damp in our house through the wall and foundation from the roadside when it rains.
The drain pipe under the road needs to be cleared out as soon as possible to prevent further interior damage. The blockage appears to be in the pipe under the road, not just the grill.
Thank you.

In addition to the blocked drain previously identified, we have found a second drain that is also completely blocked up with debris. These two drains are on opposite sides of the Main Street, Over Norton and close together. With both drains blocked up, rain water pours down the road and also sits in the blocked drain pipes creating damp ground adjacent to our house wall. It would be helpful if the council could unblock both drains and clear out the pipes to ensure that water drains away as intended.
