Need for additional “No entry” road marking

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category by Bryan Pickup at 11:07, Friday 6 September 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Plantation Road is a narrow one-way street running east-west off Woodstock Road. There have been several instances recently of delivery drivers going the wrong way ie west-east and damage to roadside walls as a result, and significant risk to pedestrians, cyclists and children using the street. This has increased since St Margaret's Road has been closed for roadworks, and is likely to increase further with the imminent proposed works to Farndon/Leckford/Plantation/St Bernard’s Roads and Observatory Street. The signage at the Walton Street end of Plantation Road is clear but the directional signage for drivers coming from Leckford Place is less obvious. Road marking at the western end of this part of Plantation Road, in front of the Gardeners Arms, to say “No entry” would alert drivers unfamiliar with this area ( and perhaps with out of date satnavs) to the one way requirement.
