View from junction obscured

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 11:33, Thu 5 September 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

This is a difficult junction to exit from because the A361 is a busy and fast road. The view towards the A44 is being obscure by an overgrown bush and drivers are having to edge out inot the A361 in order to see oncoming traffic. If the bush is not cut back or even better removed there is a strong likelihood there will be a accident

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
