Dangerous stop point for exit of driveway

Reported via mobile anonymously at 14:14, Monday 2 September 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council 1 minute later

Good afternoon,

I’ve been emailed a couple of occasions and called through to address the issue, first report via the highway email was on the 21 jun 2024 via l_j_@hotmail.co.uk

Please can you assist us as we have already had several incidents near miss incidents. The stop point to allow people the right of way for the traffic bollard has caused is to have several near misses where we are becoming increasingly anxious every time we leave the house.

It’s painted directly in line of the driveway and where the bollard is makes the left turn difficult where you have to reverse to make it depending on which car we use, this makes it dangerous not just for us but causes disruption too.

Additionally our elderly neighbour sufferers with COPD and is very vulnerable. He is being impacted by the fumes from the cars lining up. They have asked us to include them in this form as they don’t know how to use the internet being in thier 80s.

Please can kindly help to address this.

Kindest regards Lucy Jones

  • We’re also finding that due to the right of way people are speeding up to avoid waiting, as you can see there’s no pedestrian path which makes this even more dangerous for my child leaving the house. I fear an incident involving her due to poor placement and choice of traffic management system.

Please can you help us before something happens
