No warning of road closure coming from Alvescot. No diversion signs.

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 11:50, Monday 2 September 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 hour, 39 minutes later

I have just driven 30 minutes to get to Bampton Medical centre (even though I was 1 minute away) because of this ridiculous road closure sign at Curbridge and the Bampton turn. From Curbridge to get to Bampton I drove through Brize, Carterton, Alvescot and then imagine how I felt when I got to Clanfield to turn left to Bampton that the ROAD IS SHUT!!! Thankfully I had the brain to then go back and use the Black Bourton turn. Two things. Remove the signs saying the road is shut all the way from Curbridge and the Bampton Tuen (it is NOT shut) and then put those signs where they should be on the approach to Clanfield and add the diversion to Black Bourton. Late for my appointment, bloody furious what a shambles.
