Overgrown bank entering Wantage on B4507 exactly opposite Letcombe Regis Turn, on left side of road approaching Wantage

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 17:24, Tue 20 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Grass bank is very overgrown, at the start of Ickleton Road approaching Wantage from Childrey and East Challow on the B4507. Impossible to turn out of the driveway of Redhaven and Haven Close (driveway opposite the Letcombe Regis junction) without risking a serious collision as the visibility is zero. Although within the 30mph limit, vehicles do not observe this and speed down at high speed. There is no way to see cars coming down the road because of the overgrown bank and the speeds of oncoming vehicles are so high that each time the driveway is exited there is a risk of an accident. Has been reported to OCC by telephone (with a reference number given) a number of times since the spring, but no action has been taken.
