There is no signage indicating that this is a cycle path

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 22:16, Monday 19 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This part of the road on the right hand side of the road when cycling towards the city centre is supposed to be a cycle path. but there is no signage telling people that. there are now a lot of tourists in the city walking there who seem to think that this is a pedestrianised area as there is no signage telling them otherwise. there really needs to be some signage there telling tourists etc. that this is for cycles only as it is dangerous for cycles and for pedestrians. cyclists can't always swerve and cycle around pedestrians as cycles can also come from the other directions and there is then the danger of being on the wrong side of the path. pedestrians have 3/4 of Broad Street to use but don't stick to that and also crowd the cycle path. there are also hanging some flower pots at the side of the road who hide some traffic signs (not some that tell that it is a cycle path but as far as I can see the signs are telling cars and motorbikes that they can't go that way).

  • Sorry wrong word: not flower pots but hanging baskets are blocking the view of a traffic sign
