Hedge too high, obstruction for traffic

Reported via iOS in the Hedges category anonymously at 13:24, Thu 15 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Although the hedges here have been reduced in size, at this junction, when you turn left out of car park, you are completely blinded by the hedge and you can’t see cars approaching from the other direction. I almost had a head on collision here yesterday as a car driving too fast came the other way and I couldn’t see it at all, can you reduce the hedge height further as it is an obstruction and is dangerous Thanks

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 13:24, Thu 15 August 2024

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, it would appear that this has been attended to by the property owner

    State changed to: Investigation complete
