Big height difference between cycle path and road, with no protective barrier

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category by Ocean Wong at 14:08, Wednesday 14 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The precariously laid out cycle path caused one of the cyclists from my company to fall off and get injured, as there is no barrier stopping her from running into the road, and she was forced into the road by a distracted cyclist who stopped dead in their tracks. As a result she was hospitalized for several days and unable to work for the next week.

The council is at least partially responsible for this accident, as it is universally agreed (from everyone that I've spoken to) that this accident is just waiting to happen, and it's high time that some sort of barrier gets put in place to stop further mishaps.

  • That part is not a cycle path. It is illegal to ride a cycle on the pavement at that point. Hence there is no need for a barrier.
