Tall grass - reducing visibilty
Reported via desktop in the Grass category by Kate Robinson at 21:16, Mon 12 August 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
There is very tall grass on the island between the 2 lanes of Marston Rd. Please ONLY cut the tall grass in the middle, where it has an impact on driver visibility. Please do KEEP the tall grass along the sides of Marston Road as this is good for biodiversity.

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
