Dangerous pedestrian crossing point

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 13:58, Fri 9 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The bus stop has no controlled crossing for pedestrians who have to cross three lanes of traffic to the garage side. It's a very busy junction, especially in term time & rush hour. Please could, for example, an appropriate delay, where no traffic moves, be introduced to the traffic light signal programming to allow any pedestrians who need to cross time to do so.

  • Thank you for your report. There is an uncontrolled crossing point to the west of the bus stop, although there are 3 lanes of traffic at this location the traffic is signal controlled with 2 of those lanes being stationary for periods of time so pedestrians only have to cross 1 lane of live traffic, we do not therefore propose to install a signalised crossing point at this time.
