Mutiple, recurring potholes on Station Road

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Malcolm Hall at 09:58, Thu 8 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I see that Station Road, Lower Shiplake will be closed for 2 days later this month (August) for repairs. Not before time!! Paint spray marks have been made (presumably by OCC) around various parts of this broken down key access road. I trust this does NOT mean a series of partial repairs or is a precursor to a skim finish on top of the long existing problems. The entire road from the Shiplake Memorial to the Corner Shop junction needs to be completely stripped back and rebuilt, not provided with just another thin resurface. This would be a completely false economy. Please do this work properly, otherwise it will turn out to be yet another temporary fix, the road surface will continue to be "torn apart" by heavy lorries and within a short while the road will be a mess we shall be back to square one. This time, do it right and execute a suitable rebuild that will last for years.
