Poor road surface on the Corner
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Derek Bradshaw at 09:23, Thu 8 August 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
The road surface around the southbound side of the carriageway has been getting progressively worse over the last two years and as a motorcyclist I feel this is now becoming dangerous. Only being on two wheels is hard enough, having to doge potholes is also difficult . But having to dodge potholes and a poor road surface on a corner is positively dangerous.
Please do take a look at the Institute of Highways Engineers report on Road Maintenance for Motorcyclists... https://motorcycleguidelines.org.uk/ the-guidelines/ 7-0-road-maintenance/ 7-1-summary/
- providing a consistent road surface with suitable skid resistance; - keeping roads clear of contamination and debris;

Have a look at this, which is not on a corner. It shows the impact of poor road maintenance on motorcyclists.
