Road damaged by Thames Water tankers

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by David Knight at 09:30, Tuesday 6 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Thames water are using tankers to remove all effluent from the Claydon sewage treatment works. Tankers carry out this work every day of the week, more than one tanker per day. It has been going on for several months. The Tankers have caused significant damage to the road outside the sewage works. This has resulted in a cyclist coming off their bike. It is also evident that vehicles are scraping their underside on the damaged roadway. Two attempts to contact Thames Water through their website have not been responded to. Thames Water have put down aggregate either side of the splay to the entrance (where there is no tarmac) to assist their vehicles' access to the site but have made no repairs to the surfaced highway. The surface at this point is now potentially dangerous and needs addressing.
