Having been out this morning to tidy the pavement and strim grass growing around the base of the trunk, the wood was so soft that chunks were coming off with the strimmer. I am very concerned as this tree stump is on the corner near my property and the main route for many schools in the neighborhood.

Since my last update, someone or something (we have foxes and badgers in the area) is kicking/digging at the base of the tree leaving some very large holes. I am concerned that the stump is becoming unstable and will fall into the pavement/road and take my boundary road with it.
