Mill Lane Drains inadequate for rainfall. Lane floods every time there is heavy rainfall.

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category by Richard Nelson at 12:14, Monday 5 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Mill Lane Drains are completely overwhelmed by heavy rain. This is a recurring problem that is getting worse. Road then floods and flood water is very nearly up to nearby house (No 31). Mill Lane does not have adequate drain provision as there appear to be only be two drains at the low point for the entire lane. Note that you came to clean the drains recently, so the problem is not them being blocked. They are not fit for purpose as they do not remove water rapidly enough to avoid flooding of the lane. Suggest more drains be provide along length of lane. Please address urgently.

Heavy rainfall overnight. Mill lane flooded an again from side to side. Road covered with mud after water drained away. Drainage for mill lane is inadequate. Please provide additional drainage to rest of mill lane to take pressure off the existing two drains.
