Slow drainage flooded my home
Reported via desktop in the Flooding on Road category anonymously at 13:41, Fri 2 August 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
This drain and its partner, both at the junction of Hart Street and Wood Street, are unable to cope with heavy rain. Frequently they overflow causing large deep pools. Yesterday, Thursday 1st August, during torrential rain, water poured down Hart Street and straight across Wood Street into Priory Mews. 5 houses were flooded. There is a larger gully at the top of Priory Mews, but that cannot be expected to deal with all the rainfall from Wood Street and Hart Street.

Photos added demonstrating problem during period of steady but not rainfall on 24.08.24. Today only 1 of the 4 drains was functioning and that is the one at the top of Priory Mews. All have 'greenery' growing out of the top. The one outside number 14 has 'fat' globules rising and drifting down the street. There is a smell of sewage and water was seen bubbling up from a sewer (on video so can not upload). This is extremely urgent. The 5 previously mentioned properties are at extreme risk of flooding again at no notice even following a period of steady rainfall.
