Over hang of trees

Reported via mobile in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 17:46, Thu 1 August 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This pathway is always the same overgrown with brambles trees need to be cut back. Members of the public use this walkway daily. This has been like this for weeks it’s time to cut it all back before the school children return to school.

  • Thank you for your report. I have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. The trees present are on land not deemed to be part of the publicly maintained highway by OCC in our capacity as local highway authority. The trees present are on land maintainable by an adjacent landowner and not by the County Council. You can access the land registry at: https://www.gov.uk/ search-property-information-land-registry to find details of the adjacent landowner to pursue your enquiry. You are also within your common law rights as a landowner to cut any overhanging vegetation back to the boundary line of your property.
