Car causing obstruction

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

Silver VW Golf causing an obstruction by parking across the dropped curb at the entrance to the alleyway in Campden Close which runs to the Burford Road, Lyneham Close and school. This is causing problems for cyclists, parents etc.

  • Vehicle is parked in this position every day and is blocking access to a very busy alleyway.

  • Thank you for your report. Unfortunately, as there are no parking restrictions currently present at this location, we are unable to enforce parking penalties.
    It should be noted that if people are parking in a dangerous manner as to obstruct the public highway they are committing an offence under section 22 of the road traffic act of 1988. This legislation is enforced by the Thames Valley Police.
    It may also be beneficial to bring this issue to WODC and local councillor's attention as this may trigger the process of introducing parking restrictions at this location.
