Traffic Light Sequencing

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 17:23, Tuesday 30 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The response I have received in regards the above location on two occasions as NOT satisfactory. The latest reason non sensical. That the lights are sequenced as 'claimed', to avoid a build up on the right turn to Horspath Road. If so, then adapt the slip road accordingly to accommodate more stationary traffic rather than holding up thousands of road users daily driving southbound. This issue will be exasperated even further when the new 'traffic filters' are introduced in 2025 that will in effect drive even MORE traffic onto the ring road, so the issue will become even worse. The reply to my report does NOT explain why the traffic is stationary even at weekends when there is little to no traffic in this slip road, yet the lights prevent the smooth flow of traffic... Put sensors on the turn right filter lights so they are NOT active when the traffic flow is low, or non existent. Where is the joined up thinking here? NO WHERE I'd like to escalate this matter further.
