Overgrown verges

Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 16:57, Tue 30 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The verge opposite Hundley way cutting is so overgrown you have to walk on a busy main road with fast traffic that doesn't slow down. The other side of Banbury hill next to Hundley way cutting the hedges are jutting out unable to see oncoming cars. Both sides need cutting back at least 1 - 2 metres. It is dangerous for holiday makers, ramblers and dog walkers.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 16:57, Tue 30 July 2024

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
