Verge needs cutting at crossroads

Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 13:23, Tue 30 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Visibility is very poor, especially for traffic approaching from Cothill Road. Verges were cut here earlier this year (although only after I had resorted to self help and used a scythe) but now need another cut, There is a slight curve in the road and no speed restriction - the 40mph to the west finishes just before the cross roads

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
