Overgrown grass & Hedges

Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 16:01, Mon 29 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Hedges and grass haven’t been cut for ages. Some of the hedges are over 6foot high. There is hardly any path left due to overgrown foliage. From Downs Road through to Minster Lovell both side of the road. Last time it was cut who ever cut the grass only skimmed the edge so please cut as far back and allow access to the path. Bushes are so overgrown I can not see down the road as I leave my drive so that’s an accident waiting to happen.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 16:01, Mon 29 July 2024

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
