Hedges blocking pavement

Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 13:50, Mon 29 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

These hedges prevent most pedestrians being able to use the footpath. I see it's already reported by someone who is disabled but wanted to comment as when the hedges have been cut in the past they still overhang the pavement by a foot making it narrower. This can be seen by one cut recently further up the lane towards the High St. Also the debris collapsing from the raised ground under the hedge covers a portion of the pavement and needs clearing and retaining somehow.

  • Frankly I can getting tired of having to walk in the road because of overgrown hedges and cars parked on the footpath. Today the footpath was completely blocked by a hedge which was touching cars parked correctly on the road and then by a car parked on the fotpath outside 28 Hazels lane

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are required to maintain their boundary feature, including not allowing it to cause a highway obstruction. A letter of encroachment will be delivered to the property in question reminding them of their duties and requesting that they cut back their hedge/ vegetation to the property boundary

    State changed to: Investigation complete
