Cutting verges unnecessarily

Contractors cutting verges when there are no safety issues and not leaving them to grow, with all biodiversity impacts. Oxfordshire cc suggests one cut a year for many verges. Appreciate this is a PC issue, but they seem reluctant to reduce unnecessary mowing .
