My third attempt to report this
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Andrew C. Dent at 12:11, Wednesday 24 July 2024

Since the Authority seems to be deflecting as many reports as it can to clear their books. I take a dim view of this as I have already made the effort to report it accurately, but here goes again: A badly-repaired pothole has opened up again. The W3W location is https://w3w.co/ rankings.modem.splinters I do hope someone at the Authority knows about what3words, as I'd suggest it's the best way to geo-locate such issues.

There a number of poor repairs in this stretch of Mill street. I have reported several deep holes (100mm+) in the road on this site during the last 12 months. The Council Highways authority have a standard to achieve described by the Highways Act 1980 (section 41) and the numerous Codes of Practive for the repair of drains, gullys, potholes and reinstament of manhole covers. OCC standards seem to be to throw at shovel full of uncompacted Handlay Bitmac in an uprepared hole and put a warning signs -uneven road - next to it. This is a Fail for supervision and sign off. Is this what we pay £1000s for in Council Tax every year?
