Overgrown verges, hedges and trees

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 12:29, Sat 20 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The single track road through Lidstone has very overgrown verges, hedges and trees. In places these are obstructing vision, covering road signs and growing into the power lines.

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
