Overgrown verges

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category by Peter Finbow at 10:43, Sat 20 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Sandy Lane is a mess. 1stly the fallen bend sign is still not fixed. I was told weeks ago it was under investigation. The verges are so overgrown that visibility for road users is seriously reduced .Also the signs warning of chippings are stlll there weeks after the work was finished.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 10:44, Sat 20 July 2024

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
