Overgrown and unsightly bushes, which are very thorny

Reported via iOS in the Hedges category anonymously at 17:21, Fri 19 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I have reported this before, see photo. I’ve had an email today to say this is ‘fixed’ It is not ‘fixed’, nothing has been done and no cutting back has been carried out, you pre piously advised that work was scheduled so can you please ensure this is done as this is council land, it’s unsightly and the bushes are dangerous due to their thorns.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 17:21, Fri 19 July 2024

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
