Lack of clarity te speed limit on B4449 eynsham bypass

Reported via mobile in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 15:57, Thursday 18 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

I’m given to understand the speed limit on Eynsham bypass B4449 is 40mph Unfortunately this is regularly exceeded and sporadic speed checks by Eynsham Parish council does not address the issue The speed limit is hampered by very small 40mph signs which are obscured by hedgerows and very difficult to see I would hope that much more attention is given to the size of the signs in an effort to control the speeding and educate drivers that this is a 40mph road! The bypass is bordered by two estates of houses and there are regular dog walkers and people crossing to walk down to the river I personally have seen several near misses as cars do not slow down nor do they slow for two roundabouts along the bypass I’m more than happy to discuss further
