Very High Grass/Vegetation that needs cutting urgently to avoid accident.

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 07:18, Thursday 18 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Coming out of the Mill Farm Driveway, in a car, it is impossible to see any oncoming traffic from the right, due to grass and vegetation being over 5 feet tall. This is a dangerous situation as the speed limit here is 60 mph. My wife and I have several times almost been involved in an accident as we drive a mini and cannot safely turn right or left. Please can the verges here be cut down level as a matter of urgency.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
