Stinging nettles closing alleyway

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 11:09, Wednesday 17 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There are now stinging nettles growing on both sides of the alleyway between Clevelands and Northcourt Lane. They are so overgrown that they sting my baby in her pram as we walk through. It would also make the alleyway impossible to navigate for a person in a wheelchair, as they would be stung on the hands, legs, and face.

  • Its look disgusting I agree. What sort of people have we responsible that think this is acceptable? Sorry to hear of your Nettle Phobia it must be distressing for you. I feel sure you would be withing your rights to trample them down in a pair of wellies one day but hey theres only so much a citizen can do. Places where abandoned weed overgrowth occurs are universally acknowledged to be becoming derelict, abandoned, left to rot etc. There can be no excuses. Its a narrative-oh look the former glory is declining- I even suspect some sick persons hostile to a neat town gloat and take relish in the decay? Tidy weed free places make them feel 'uncomfortable'.
