Pavement being used by cyclists

Reported via iOS in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 18:39, Tue 16 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The pavement on the Iffely Road side of the Cowley Road is being heavily used by cyclists. Today I was actually clipped by one as they sped past. This seems to be worse when there is congestion (this was around 5.30pm). Can there be some enforcement to ensure pavements can be safely used by pedestrians?

  • Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. While Oxfordshire County Council is not responsible for this problem, you will need to report it to the police as a non emergency but the council cant enforce anything on this matter. I would think the police need to catch the perpetrator in the act to enforce anything but i doubt they will prioritise thiis after the event unless a serious injury has occurred. I believe the fine is a standard £30. The report will now be closed on Fix My Street.
