Sectioned pipework leaking at joint caused property flooding
Reported via desktop in the Property Flooding category anonymously at 13:23, Wed 10 July 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This report has been closed before being resolved and it will happen again. While the pipe has been surveyed and shows no sign of breakages, the fact it is not one continuous pipe or sleave means water can be forced through the joins, which fills gardens and floods properties. Please see photos from previous 3 times of reporting over a number of years. We have also reported to our insurance companies who would like reassurance work will be done to mitigate this happening again.

On 24th November 2024 our house and our neighbour's was very nearly flooded AGAIN because the pipework along the Oxford Road leaks into our gardens. The only reason we didn't flood this time again is because we were alerted and borrowed pumps and use sandbags to divert the water onto the road which caused the road to be partially blocked and caused a serious hazard. We are still renovating the houses since this pipe caused the houses to flood earlier this year and have not been able to live there for 10 months. Outbuildings were flooded again and have again caused significant damage. We have been reporting this since November 2021 and the report keeps getting closed. Please do not ignore this. The stress and cost of being flooded is significant and fixing this pipe would solve this.
