No drainage at end of gully along public footpath, adjoining Macdonald Close

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 19:48, Tue 9 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I reported back in February that the gully by the public footpath always overflows and runs onto Macdonald Close when it rains, as it appears there is no drainage system in place.

One of your team replied in March: "There is an underground drainage route at the bottom of the footpath for the stream, but it has entirely filled up with crud and rubbish so the stream has re-routed over the road. It just needs diffing out and clearing so it can flow properly."

I am glad to hear there is an underground system as I cannot find the drain at all. As we've been having a lot of rain, the damage from the runoff has been getting worse. Are you able to give me a time scale of when Oxfordshire County Council Maintainence team would be able to dig out and clear this? And how would it be best to keep it from blocking in the future? Is this something that can be regularly maintained by the council, or is it something that will be left and will need us to report if/when it gets blocked up again?
