Ditches to side of road have become overgrown with tree trunks and culverts created that are not low in ditch creating dams.

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
This area endured serious flooding in 2007 which caused flooding to many properties in the area including Goosey Wick, Bagmere Farm and Dwellings in Charney Bassett. Since then many local ditches were dug out by farmers improving the flooding issue. Sadly the current route of water flow to the west of this roadway have been blocked by new ditch crossings and trees growing in the ditches. This winter houses to the west noticed significant increased flooding which we have put down to the blocked ditches at the point shown on the plan.

I have tried contacting your office by phone a few weeks ago but received no call back. Exactly what I said has happened in the last few days as to the blocked ditch backing up water and flooding houses ar Goosey Wick. Can someone please contact me as a matter of urgency. This was reported in early July and you have been "investigating" ever since. Sadly the inaction has led to damage to property which could have been avoided.

Yet again I have to write to say we have had no contact from you in our request for a meeting to inspect this issue. When I spoke to your office in July I was promised a call back. Could I politely ask for someone to contact me as surely it is your job to respond to what is causing serious flooding for people. I look forward to hearing from you by the 30th October.

Thank you for your report - Ditches are the responsibility of the land owner and therefore you will need to contact them direct if you would like them cleared. we have however forwarded your enquiry to the district council as they are the enforcing body.
