Road flooded by overflowing ditch

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There is water on the road from an overflowing ditch in the field next to it. This happens in most heavy rain, but the flooding is worse than usual today. Cars going through it throws water over the windscreen and as high as the car.

  • Thank you for reporting flooding at this location. In some instances particularly in areas of historic flooding a solution may not be viable and we may need to sign the hazard. Maintenance of ditches is responsibility of riparian owners. Any land drainage enquiries need to be addressed for local land drainage authority in district council.
