The single drain at the bottom of Constitution Hill is blocked with soil.

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain / Gully category by Peter Welch at 08:40, Sat 6 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The single drain in front of the yew hedge at the bottom of Constitution Hill is constantly overwhelmed by normal let alone heavy rainfall. First, the drain box it feeds appears backed up with soil and other debris washed down the hill. Second, 15 years ago the problem was alleviated by Highways Dept digging numerous relief channels to the sides of the road on the way down Constitution Hill, thus mitigating the problem at the drain. Now, these cuts have been overgrown and should be reinstated. Also, this is the only drain, currently the only defence against flooding and it is of minimal use.
