Vegetation blocking visibility to a420
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
At the junction of the A420 from the southern side on the road to Gainfield cow parsley and other vegetation has grown to an extent where visibility is extremely poor forcing cars to pull out onto the A4 20 further than is safe to do so before they are able to see whether there is oncoming traffic. Please could this be cut back just at the corner?

Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
