Grass verge not cut

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 18:36, Wed 3 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

I am writing on behalf of Bletchingdon Parish Council. I have reported this once already and you responded to say these areas would be cut in June. As you can see from the photographs attached which were taken yesterday, the grass has not been cut. This is an area in the village that has always been dealt with by either CDC or OCC. We are receiving many complaints and enquiries, from our residents as to why these areas have been left. Please cut these as a priority.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
