Excess bramble and vegetation growth on grass verge threatening safety of our garden wall

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 16:06, Monday 1 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

A very large bramble and vegatation mass on the grass verge which is now in danger of encroaching on our property and is reseeding into wall and bank below which will threaten stability of the wall in due course. If it fell stone would roll down onto the road. Clearly the verge area concerned has been left uncut for a very long time. We are new owners. Previous owner was v elderly and a cared for invalid. She was probably unaware of the problem

  • If the responsible OCC officer would like to contact us the growth can be viewed from within our property adjacent to the wall concerned.

  • As no action has been taken and because of the encroachment on our roadside walls, at our own expense we have cut the bramble patch down before further damage could be caused. It can now be cut & strimmed by the relevant authority. It should really have weedkiller applied to prevent further bramble growth.
