Roundabout by McDonalds and the one with the Monk

Reported via mobile in the Grass category anonymously at 16:55, Saturday 29 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This roundabout needs some serious cutting back of all the vegetation that covers it, it’s dangerous as you cannot see round it! Also the roundabout with the Monk is very overgrown, please can these be cut back with urgent effect!!! Accident waiting to happen as your vision is obscured

  • That Monk is on its last legs, its rotten thru and thru split wood. Dont even know what its doing there? Was it 'officially sanctioned'?Or can we all just go round erecting makeshift 'sculptures'all over the place? First puff of strong wind could blow it over into a passing vehicle apart from the fact that it just doesnt look very good imho. The smaller 'Buddah'Garden Statue beside it is definietly unauthorised. If we are going to have this sort of selective partisan religious iconography could we please have a balance and representation of all the otther multi faiths as well not just 2?

  • Well a Christian monk makes sense because Abingdon is an Abbey town historically. The Buddha monk can go though because that religion is not from this area.
