Blocked drain in road outside 10 Yarnells Hill

This drain has been blocked for several months. It has been previously reported but the County Council choose to close the report stating “Therefore, after much thought we have decided to close down reports relating to drainage matters during the winter months as after investigating the data it was apparent that many of the fixmystreet reports/issues were caused by the sheer volume of rainwater that fell meaning that the drainage system was unable to cope due to ground water saturation.” The blocked drain has nothing to do with ground water saturation, it is poor maintenance of the highways infrastructure by the County Council and therefore should be cleared.

  • Thank you for reporting the flooding caused by blocked gullies. We are aware of the situation and have initiated a reactive gully cleaning to address the blockage.
