Overgrown path on the Oxfordshire side of the Henley Road.

Reported via mobile in the Grass category anonymously at 17:36, Tuesday 25 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The entire path on the Oxfordshire side of the path along the Henley Road is totally overgrown & is becoming dangerous & almost completely impassable. It's now been a number of years since the hedges have been cut back, but the worst problem is the grass, which you have to wade through, which is mostly nearly 5 feet tall. The danger of developing lyme disease from ticks is high. This path has been neglected for far too long.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
