Overgrowing hedge

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 12:48, Tue 25 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

This is the hedge for the field north of White House Farm. I believe this is County Council-owned land. It’s hard to get past the hedge here without going in to the road. It wouldn’t be possible to get past in a wheelchair or with a pushchair.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 12:49, Tue 25 June 2024

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
