Very high grass on verge at turning to my house

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 17:32, Mon 24 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The problem is that it is very dangerous to exit the track leading to my property (ox449pw - the cottage shown as east heath & west heath cottage in your map) as it is not possible to see cars because of the high grass. The grass only needs to be cut back a few metres from the track and then the problem should be resolved.

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
